To be honest, I think the best course of action from Thurinus' position would have been to ICly play as DISPATCH and actually have units respond, but then again I think we would have been in this same thread for what Thurinus stated above.

You are implying, Azralis, that Sid somehow made a mistake in his roleplay (AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA), and that he wasn't making the decision to represent his character as hoodwinked by an improbable ploy.

I never made that argument. Ever. Like literally not once in this thread.

I'd argue that there's an OOC issue with a character who's not rostered? Yes.
There's an OOC issue with dispatch not going off? Absolutely.
There's the issue of the armory being abandoned despite it not being likely? Mhm.
Not once did I say sid fucked up beyond possibly overstepping his bounds as an event character and being a bit lazy/apathetic. You'd do well to not make judgments about people with little to no information, especially if you use that as the crux of your argument.

Sid's actual character roleplay isn't an issue. He did fine in that regard. Sid should've stuck around, roleplayed dispatch properly, etc. which he never did. At the very least, he should've informed admins so they could take over doing those things.

e: You seem to have me mistaken for someone who doesn't like Sid. That's about as far away from the truth as possible. Even people you like make mistakes sometimes. Crazy concept around here, I know.

I find it upsetting that it would actually cause a seperate arguement if it went about that route, mainly due to the fact that it would have actually had an IC resolution to it, but would be called out as "unfair and broken"

If we wanted to get technical: Sid isn't even a rostered UNION unit at the moment. He just came back and no one really said anything. I think the reason this is so one sided or the other is Toast's inability to act like an adult when something is done against him. Contact me, the admin team too, and we can iron on the RP since it involved UNION units.

What should've happened...

1. Observe. Watch the roleplay first, see what's happening before acting.

2. Inquire, ask Sid and Toast how this transpired. If it seems on the up and up and isn't disruptive to the server aka mingerushed invasion. I think it's irrelevant that it was an event character or not if the roleplay was sound. Don't give event characters to people you don't trust.

3. Facilitate the roleplay by describing the potential cameras and consoles, set the scenery through /it's and help further it along. It could've been a lot of fun to see Toast act like a rat in a maze or see if he could escape. I don't think it's far fetched that he'd get camera'ed in the armory! Make that happen through IC though.

Personally I don't like this over aggrandizement of the CCA that in a Nexus which is just a retrofitted crumbling building with some combine tech and isn't the Citadel. I don't think it's nuts that someone would be able to infiltrate during recruitment cycles. People keep harping about rules and guidelines in this thread but I don't see anything written down against it or saying that the Nexus would have ten billion units in it at all times in all areas.

Why do so many people want barriers upon roleplay that only server to rip us out of interesting scenarios?

In all fairness man? Probably. If you don't know how to deal with him, he's an absolute pain in the ass who will harass you near constantly for forever.

Unlocked because there are 3 major misconceptions going on in this thread:

My character did not initially approach Sid's character. My character saw two people trying to get a member of field command for an interview and joined them. She went directly to MadWetUndies' character for an interview with 2 other characters. Both other characters were denied. Mad's character called over Sid's character to escort my character inside. Sid's character obliged and took mine on a small tour of the nexus, stopping off in the medical bay, and finally the locker/spawn room, not the armory. In the locker/spawn room, there was a gun rack dupe with rows of MP7s and pistols. I took that IC.

There were roughly a dozen CPs on when I initially approached Mad, and maybe 10 or so when I went into the Nexus.

I wouldn't have had an issue if my character had been stopped/killed IC. That was actually what I was expecting to happen.
