Y'know if guns are gonna be more common than water, then does that mean gun merchants are only really going to be able to make scratch if they sell higher end rifles?
 
guns should be common but shit like anti material, machine guns, military ordinance shit shouldnt be. imagine if they added a civilian AR15 for 80% of the M4/M16’s. Semi Autos will force people who want to not lose their fkn minds spam clicking to buy full auto

I'm imagining that while the war against the machine happened that a lot of police department/armories, military forts, etc., were abandoned (or even maybe so, destroyed) with Judgement Day. It isn't wrong to assume that once the humans resurfaced to a post-apocalyptical America that a lot of common military ordnance were scavenged and sold from whatever abandoned armory they found it from.

hot take ickly there is almost no benefit to full auto small arms in this setting since your target cannot be suppressed and shot placement is a lot more valuable than volume of fire.
also since your civilian AR-15 may have been owned by an enthusiast it was probably better taken care of and might have higher quality components than the military issued rifles. the best/most desireable would be safe queens decked out with all sorts of anodized bling and exotic shit

delta should be rolling up to the fight looking like a cod mtx whale with waifu decals on their rifles

There are ways to turn civilian weapons fully automatic, but I'm not going to look up how to explain because I don't want the ATF to shoot my dogs.
