You know you could have just backed up all of your steam files and folders and redownloaded Steam, then moved your folders back in. Much safer. :/
 
You could just have DELETED all files except Steam.exe and wait for Steam to download them from Valve's servers.

But hey, let's all download random executables from the interwebs. \o/

I think it's just that Europe isn't used to having Chinese computers on their networks so they assume you're a hacker and have everything pirated. TOTALLY KIDDING.

I've had this problem so many times in the past. Deleting "ClientRegistry.blob" usually fixes this problem.
