I'm new to combine control and I have some questions so here they are-
1. How do i get a workbench?
2. Where do i get scrap metal and other parts for building things from?
3. Is there any way to erase your record of crime or have CP erase it, or your loan? I can't get my ration distributions because of it.
4. While i'm running away and hiding from the cp is it against the rules to stash an illegal item?
5. Where do I get the materials to cook drugs, from the alcohol buisness?

Thank you for taking the time to read this and please answer all of my questions.

Your answers are located deep within the forest of forums, go there my son.

1. buy one from either the business menu or another player
2. ditto
3. you can pay off loans, but as for your record for the most part it sticks with you, however you can show your loyalty to show youve changed
4. yes.
5. from the business menu yes.

Day 43 in the forest of the forums,

Food supply is very limited, I have completely ran out of water, i had to drink my own urine for quite a while although i have got accustomed to it.
I still have not found what i was looking for.
I might have to eat my own limbs if my food supply runs out.
Hopefully someone will come save me from this endless maze of trees.

Welcome to the tnb forums where the only guides were removed by the anti-archive system months ago and people are too lazy to write up new ones

you didn't scrub the strawberry shampoo hard enough

This is a pretty good example of how the gamemode in its current form prompts people to interface with its many scripted features before ever encouraging them to think about roleplay.

A new player, left to their devises, will join the server and be bombarded with interesting gamemode features and immediately assume that they constitute the entire objective of the server.

Why do people always just want there hands on scripts? They are nice if you have a few but I mean people ask where before they even know why. .

Because like I said, every cue they receive from the gamemode is to interact with its programmed features. Joining the server fresh pretty much means being greeted by a big flashing sign that says "LOOK AT THE CRAFTING SYSTEM IT'S IMPORTANT!"

I think that this script, while incorporated with the best of intentions, has ruined a generation of HL2RP players joining TnB.

Hell, I even got drawn into the trappings of the script for about five minutes at the beginning of coming back to TnB after not roleplaying for a good year and a half, then it hit me what the fuck I was doing. I'm not a supremely good roleplayer but I have some notches on my belt so it should say a thing or two that the script being forced down your throat is the first thing I accepted when I came to this iteration.

These new players are the génération perdue of our little societal microcosm. They're the ones shedding their lifeblood in the trenches on the banks of CombineControl.

For an idea of just how detached the current playerbase is from the object of roleplay, being greeted with 'Hello. Do you have a workbench on you?" Is a regular displeasure. You can tell how little they're thinking about the context of their actions by remembering a work bench is about the size of a dinner table.

It is probably the worst part of the entire server, frankly.
Remember when Dave said he didn't want this iteration to be as serious as the rest

What a coincidence that he said that, considering this is the first iteration to not use tacoscript

I suppose it's unfortunate that less serious seems to be p. troglodytes roleplay

Honestly, the fact that someone made a thread asking these questions should really slap a lot of people in the face when it comes to the impressions they make on new players. But that's just my opinion.

I don't like Combine Control compared to Taco Script as I remember it. CC is just.. I don't like it. It breeds a dependency on scripts and wasn't that what SRP was taken down for or something? A dependency on scripts?(Keep in mind I was told this I don't actually know don't lynch me)

I'd much rather see Taco Script make a return so we can do away with CC and maybe get things more serious. If not all the way, then maybe just a bit more?
