I am typing this on my phone so please excuse any egregious errors.
To state first, I am not a computer-literate person. I know my way around windows at an experienced level, but beyond windows I'm fairly lost; this means I don't even know what's in my own computer. That being said, let's move on.
I downloaded The Old Republic from their site a few weeks back, installed it, launched it, and immediately after it launched it gave me lovely, retina-scalding wonder:

This wasn't the first time I had gotten a video error such as this one. Several other games gave me the same error (Payday 2, Empire Total War, Arma III)... However I was able to bypass it by simply alt-tabbing OR ending the process entirely through task manager.
This time was different. I tried all of that, but ended up having to restart manually via the hard button on the tower. Everything was fine, including getting to the windows startup screen - then it goes into standby mode for about 15 seconds, and then gives me that screen once again. The process is the same every time I restart.
I am unable to start up in safe mode in the boot menu (option just isn't there) and I don't have a Win 8 disc to start up in safe mode either.
I am sure it has something to so with that software (TOR) being on the computer, and for that I am sure it's also a video problem.. But I'm at a loss of what to do. Are there any suggestions?
Thanks for reading.
