Looking into getting a new computer

Personally, I'd save up and get a computer with this in it: http://www.geforce.com/hardware/desktop-gpus/geforce-gtx-970

It's cheap for what it is, considering it's the second most powerful gaming GPU in the world currently judging by bench-marking statistics.

Except I have better things to put money towards and said so in the bumping post,

My budget's not all that great and I have other things I want to be putting money towards, so I'm not putting any more than what I've got right now towards this. I've got $435 in cash right now

If I can't match or beat the power of a PS4 by building a PC (without going over $435) it's not really going to be worth the time, effort, and extra cash to me. I mostly just want to be able to play new releases with smooth enough framerate, which my laptop's a bit outdated for now with the 'next-gen' bump.

As long as you want to build it yourself, you can use the guidelines here.

A PS4 is about as powerful as a 3rd gen i3 in terms of processing power, if that helps you any.

You really seem to not be too interested in actually getting a computer, truth be told. Just get the PS4 like you're clearly wanting to do.

Fits the budget perfectly. Bookmarked, thanks. I'll look into it a bit more sometime tomorrow.

No, I'm just sick of people telling me to save up money for better parts when something that fills the bill works in-budget.

I don't want a 1080p/4k ultra 120fps behemoth running two nvidia titans or GFX 270's or whatever they're called. I want to play modern games at okay settings with average framerate at 720p minimum. It's not just a matter of this being all the money I have right now, it's a matter of this being all the money I want to invest period. I'd really rather not have to pay $50 or whatever a year just for the ability to occasionally play a game with some friends. Most of the people I play games with are PC nuts. But if it can't do the job I'm not going to put any more money into it and go for a PS4.

The build Bennet suggested looks good on the surface to me, disregarding the fact the only Windows I have on disk is Windows XP. I'm going to look into each part and make a decision by Saturday whether or not I'm going with that or a playstation. But my decision isn't predetermined, otherwise this thread wouldn't have been reopened. Thanks.

Power really isn't the issue when it comes to consoles anymore. Most AAA titles are designed for consoles almost from concept, if not sooner, so they tend to run with less hiccups than on PC. And honestly, building a PC is a real hassle if all you really want to do is play video games.

I'm sure you can put together your PC in an hour once you have all the parts set out and have a good video to assist you, but if that's a hassle that maybe you shouldn't build a computer. Also i'm not sure what you mean as far as hiccups goes on PC, as i've never really had driver issues with games, let-alone AAA games.

I've built two. First one took me sixteen hours but mostly because I was doing that and other shit.

The second one took me about an hour without a video. I just wanted to play Payday 2.

I would've just plugged in my PS4 and played The Last Of Us if I didn't have to do other shit with the PC.

You don't need to build the PC yourself, any respectable hardware store will have an assembly service for relatively cheap, you're buying all your parts from them afterall.

And your PS4 arguments are retarded, remember that a PC saves you a lot of money in the long run with cheaper titles. Also PS4 has no gaems.

The first PC I built took me a little over an hour, personally. You also have to add in the costs of subscriptions to Playstation Plus or Xbox Live.

I don't see why people treat building a PC like such a chore or rocket science. It's simple, easy, and can be a fun learning experience if you don't walk into it with the wrong outlook. You get to learn how this shit works and how it's all connected instead of knowing nothing about this huge technology, don't be a lazy turd.

I'm pretty sure that Tami is willing to put in the work to build a computer, it's just the budget. Just to repeat what was said.

So again, Tami isn't refusing to build a computer, he's just looking for a computer that'll do the job he wants it to while staying within the budget he currently has set, and if he can't find that, he'll grab something that'll do that. Which is the PS4. Let's get this back on track guys.

If again, I care about playing games that are a few years old and/or obscure. Which I do, but that's not the point.

Also YOUR argument is retartits.

I've got it pat down. I'm not learning anything new from slotting plugs into their self-apperent ports.

I meant it's a learning experience for new people.
