"Nothing in this world truly belongs to anybody - Which is why we can just as easily take it."

Small time? You'd be far from wrong. It looks deserted, quaint, no life and nothing to do. Makes you think there just might be something there like a hidden treasure, huh?

The people here as apathetic as they come, probably half of them are drug dealers or fuel-huffers. They make good informants with that in mind.

Military has been moving around apparently, some real hushed-up shit. I can't imagine what sorts of goods they're going to be lifting. Which is why we took the courtesy of putting this info up on our website. Here from now this town is goin' to see a mighty large influx of foreigners and travelers alike.

Of course, an operation like this is going to take serious brains. Preparation will be absolutely vital, and you might even need to commit some smaller crimes for the bigger crime. Regardless of that, there's plently of other opportunities for the smaller gigs to get a feel for this sort of natural business. Banks, drug labs, hacker stations... The works.

I should also mention that the people working in this area aren't any pussy-footed traffic cops. The scale the military are moving on is almost red-alert, so government agents and military-response is to be expected. Just don't get caught.

It's all up to you fellas, may the best man win.

(( A'ight so pretty much the idea of this is HEISTING THE GAEM. Probably a two, three day series event where people can either form groups and look around, interact with locals and pull small-time hussles, or even request specific events set up for how they plan on tackling it.

The lore for where its set isn't put in mind, but i'd imagine somewhere in Texas, 1990. The ideal composition of this would be a few locals & civilian workers (to spice up the small-time hussles), undercover agents, and of course the heisters. I had the inspiration to do this ever since looking at this map

A bit of fleshing out and I think we could make it work. Gimme yer input and if it gets enough support I'll actually organize models and props.)

Love this idea. Went through and re-read it twice. Undercover agent is the thing for me :p

soup add me on steam so we can make this awesome

i read heat and i got excited because of heat the movie but i guess this is ok too

i would totally be down to play a heist man for this

they ain't call me Heist Man for nothin......

Sounds like a cool and fun idea!

I just checked the map out, it's pretty impressive and gets the ol imagination fired up

It does feel more like Nevada though, like in the map description. Can't picture Texas looking quite like this

set this in nevada, add in state troopers and we may have something good on our hands here

also because that map doesnt really look like it resembles texas all that much and the story would probably fit in a nevada environment more with military secrets n shit

Yeah, in that case i'll set it in Nevada 1996, maybe have some global crisis going on to spur the imagination.

(( Maybe set it where the Zambian Civil War is going to occur and get some characters criss-crossing eh? ;)))

good choice, sounds pretty good to me

speaking of 90s police cars, me n a friend were traveling around the map, it's pretty large in area size but also works really well with source/l4d vehicles (at least offline). do you think we'd be able to use source vehicles and the like more commonly than previous random roleplays n all? i feel like it'd seem kinda iffy if we had people running across the whole desert to get to places or trying to pull off a big heist with no real vehicles in hand in the first place

I was hoping we'd have custom vehicles put in place, exciting car chases felt like an essential part.

At the same time though, the car chases might not be good for RP. Perhaps have it set in the way in which HEAT did it, where the car chase isn't really there and its just slowly moving along while people do shit.

Either that or we can just break it up with just driving and decide through the events on whether or not the criminals car is stopped (In most likely cases it'll be stopped.)

ALSO have WAC Aircraft put in and let people like gunnerstrip fly police or news helicopters.

okay uh i dont even know if im wasting my efforts here but if anybody could try to find a good Crown Victorian highway patrol skin & a compadable vehicle that'd be swell

I actually found a real neat Nevada highway patrol skin but its fucked so idk

i found a bunch of really good state trooper/highway patrol skins on the workshop but i've been trying for the past hour or so trying to get this nevada skin to work, i really don't wanna miss this kinda opportunity. can you tell me what problems you were having with it? so far the skin works perfectly for me but the lightbar that uses photon or whatever is fucked up, like it's facing the wrong direction and in the wrong position

however i've also managed to do a workaround by using the default TDMcar ford crown vic '11 model and replacing 'models/tdmcars/shared/skin' with 'models/photon/nhp_cvpi_11folder/nhp_cvpi_11' with the submaterial tool which creates this (i replicated the bodygroups to be as close as possible to the nevada car mod's bodygroups as possible);

the only big downside i can see is that the cool photon lights/sirens systems doesnt work on the default TDMcar 2011 crown vic model, which is a big shame. i'm going to keep trying to find out what's up with it, hopefully it's nothing unfixable

e; here's what the nevada cruisers from the actual mod itself look like for me, dunno if anyone might be able to help find out what's going on here

what's kind of weird to me is that the car initially spawns fine, but then the lightbar and the other bodygroups immediately just jerks to that broken position

taken at like 0.001 timescale, after it's done spawning the lightbar/bodygroups just bug themselves out
