The Deets

An unidentified vessel has entered New York's maritime coastline at approximately 4:30, October 2nd, 2025. Interpol has alerted relevant civil authorities, including the Coast Guard. By the time the closest Hamilton-class Cutter arrives, it will already have docked. It's purpose is unknown, occupants unidentified. A task force has been authorized using available SWAT and a contingent of Cronus Security Operatives posted at the local NYPD precinct to investigate, apprehend, and save any crew. Any attempts at contact have yielded no response. Linguists have determined whispering from the vessel to be that of Albanian, and whispered Serbo-Croatian with clear agitation. Satellite imaging has yielded one pertinent fact, the unknown crew are armed and very likely holding hostages. The board is set, time to play.

Event Characters/Crew
Mercenaries - Kosovan hired guns with a bone to pick. Highly hostile, wielding Warsaw automatics, and orders to make port by any means necessary.
Crew - Serbian nationals transporting what is known to the authorities as specialty Italian goods, ordered by De Vita International

NYPD/Cronus Security
NYPD - There are reports of hostages aboard the ship, regardless of legality, the first priority will be the negotiation and and abrupt arrest of every one aboard the ship and the seizure of all assets. Working with Cronus will be new, but nothing special, at least, the brass thinks so.
Cronus Security - A fresh opportunity to debut the full might of integration with NYPD SWAT and Federal assets in a joint task force. This may prove to advance Cronus' many subsidiaries in the city should they prove successful.

This is a pretty standard event wrapped up in a complicated cloth, anyone can join and play a role. Just put down your character name, affiliation, or chosen crew role, and your OOC name/Discord to get filled in. There is no limit to characters, even if it looks filled up. Will update as necessary.

I'll be NYPD or CSEC, not sure. Depends on the numbers of both.

I think it'd be cool if uh... there were security cameras around the port itself that the police could tap into all things considering (mainly cuz I wanna get on Theo and watch the event and act as the guy in the chair type deal...)

Well that went to absolute shit. I fucked up.

Any feedback is for personal improvement, but I think on one hand, I simply had too many people and on the other, timetables got so fucked up that I couldn't keep track of what was happening. I was micro managing what I thought was gonna happen with what I intended, and it all just went to crap. I was originally intending to debut Cronus, but I fucked it up with the chopper. I get it, I left a bit too much to chance and it compounded to a point where it just exploded and I could either try to roll with the punches, or stop it there and let people chill the fuck out.

I think things went relatively fine, but what I didn't realize was just how much the chopper was struggling to both process the emotes directed at them by multiple different groups. In my hubris, I thought I could handle it, and let things play out, but the map was a limitation and I clearly did not anticipate things going the way they did. The people I got onboard as event characters had very little idea of what to actually do, and I think that was really just my fault failing to give them the correct instructions and plan of events. But the sheer amount of people I had brought on was dogging me down to a point where I couldn't keep track, I couldn't slow it down, and like a runaway train I had to let it play out even if it ended anticlimactically.

I'm toning down my scale and breadth of events, cuz that did turn me off of high violence bullshit which I kinda detested to begin with, so hopefully no more insane stuff like this, ham fisting what I thought was a good idea into an event. Big thanks to Slentz, Zombie, and a few others for putting up with the chaos, it would've gone a whole lot worse without them.

Lastly, some people were concerned about money. Brother, I wish I knew what the staff want to do with that too, I just sorta ask for it in increments and then pay it out and then ask for pocket change again like a child. If you have an issue with that, please consult with your local admin chat because I don't know the plan of action for that.

every other event you've done was goated especially the world corp one. really i think the root/main issue was just the sheer amount of people involved which is hard to manage or find something for all of them to do. good thing about that tho is its easily fixed/workable. i liked the creativity and the set piece overall doing a boat raid is some cool ass shit.
