It's faster and more concise than windows 7, there's just a big clunky metro interface in the way of it.

Well it's a new release so there's bound to be loads of compatibility issues, if not with steam than with SOMETHING else you like to use. You might ask google for a better answer

I've been using Win 8 for about 9 months now (Dad is the CIO, Chief Information Officer, of Las Vegas, so we get all the newest hard/software when we want, sometimes early). Personally I love it. I love the interface, how fast it is, and how godamn simple everything is. To my point, I've had zero comparability issues with steam or really, any software I use. Vent, Skype, Steam. Everything I ran on windows 7 runs twice as fast on windows 8.
