Why is the server crashing so much?

I've been playing TRP for awhile today. So far, the server has crashed maybe 4-5 times. One of them Dave was on briefing a large party in a drone-capturing thing. Crashed during his briefing.

Can someone tell me what is going on, and perhaps fix it? Its getting annoying, its crashing during great RP moments. The server crashed as I was getting medical attention, John's briefing, and talking to Duke Savvage in what I believe was going to become a fairly good RP conversation. What's going on?

This really isn't a needed thread, but I'll respond with the best answer I know.

It's just the server, shit happens.
 
Unstable script is the most major contributing factor, and without any scripters to fix it, it will likely remain that way for a while.
 
It's still down... Does an admin need to boot it again? And why do we have no coders anyways?
 
We have no scripters because scripters are like gold dust. Very rare.

The server's more unstable than normally, however. Not sure why that is.
 
No, they're common as hell.
Just not many are into the whole roleplay thing.
 
*Scripters who are willing to work on roleplay scripts.

Also, we often piss them off and they leave.
 
Or they say that they have skills but the end up not being able to do anything at all.
Maybe the high-tech setting of Tekka will attract individuals who are more involved in the coding type things.
 
I'm going to learn to code C++ next year, High school class. How similar is C++ to Lua? Because I could easily learn some basic C++ and then switch to Lua and become a coder.
Do I get paid? (Partially serious) :P

Depends. You can /ask/ for a little pay for your contribution to the Community, but only if you have /really/ helped at all. Dave has offered Milk some money a few times, but I'm pretty sure he has rejected all pay, because of the fact that he doesn't code anymore for personal reaasons. At least that's what I've heard.
 
I heard it was being replaced with a Fallout:RP server.
 
The server most likely crashed last night, and probably did not have auto launch enabled or something of the variant.
Therefore sadly, the server will stay down until Dave or another SEA can restart the server from the box.
Most we can do now is wait. Or spam the fuck out of the people to restart it, your choice though.

Anyways, we really need some more coders/admins that can restart the server. TNB is low on people in every area, and I wonder why. It kicks the crap out of several of the games I own. I bought terraria, and I played it for a bit, then went to TRP. Often its my fallback if the server is down (Like now) But I'm not playing it right now. I'm typing this message.
 
Only RDAs are trusted with access to the server which means only they can restart it, and obviously with only what, 3 RDAs? Not all timezones are covered.
 
Server *should* restart by itself.

I'll get on it and get back to you.
 
Alright, update:

Advantage has set up the server to not restart automatically, because there's been some minor, niggling problems with attacks on the box. Moment they stop, it'll restart properly. In the meantime, the RDAs - Garfy, Duke, and Operator - plus the two SEAs, Advantage and Dave - can reset the server for you, if it crashes.

If they're not online...

God help us all.

Sadly, He isn't online I believe. Which is why the server has been down since yesterday. Anyways, I didn't QUITE get what you meant by Advantage removing the Auto-Restart Script. How can attacks on the server have anything to do with Advantage removing the Restart script... Doesn't quite make sense. Maybe I'm reading it wrong, I don't know.
