Serious Why did we remove the scoreboard ratio?

Idk if this is the official reasoning, but there was times it could easily give away some unmarked characters that were online. After all, if you have 3/10 citizens on S2, and nothing else, those other 7 are either other people connecting, or something like COTA or the likes. Idk, but that's my guess, to less easily give shit away.

pretty sure the changelog says something like making the scoreboard more compact/cleaner

personally i liked it, was nice to be able to tell at a glance exactly how many citizens and cp's there were

i liked it a lot and helped figure out the exact number when youre not wanting to scroll down the list and count them all maybe if it was something that you could click on, like if you clicked “citizens” it put smth either in your chat box like citizens: 5 or a quick blip saying the number idk

I'm sure it was nice to look at and useful for some things but it made hidden characters painfully obvious, encouraged behavior surrounding mindfulness of what the scoreboard said, made the server seem smaller at a glance, and made lopsided ratios look particularly bad, all from a momentary glimpse at the scoreboard.

It's a handy metric for administration/eventcrafting but has been kind of obnoxious on numerous occasions (particularly on S2/S3) when it took two seconds to peep scoreboard and see something's off and people conveniently start acting alert and/or moving off the server. At least now if people want to metagame it they'll have to actually cross the usual hurdles of opening console and doing the math- removing the convenience of it in the first place.

return to monke roots

status in console

‘accidentally’ pm hidden cota. live a legend.

/pm COTA hey my mom said you can come over if your mom says its ok

when i joined trp it felt like there were a lot more people than there were, mainly cause i had to type status if i wanted an accurate number and im lazy.

also when you hit tab on s3 and see "Citizens: 14/30" it becomes painfully obvious who else is on the server.

it's been on the dev tracker thing since before i mentioned it, but thats the reason i wanted it gone

Scoreboard ratio should have stayed in my opinion. Like for example if I join S2 and there are 15 players which I can only see 10 on the board, I know that there are 5 admins and somethink interesting is about to happen. That makes me stay on the server even if there is one admin beacuse I know there is chance of neat encounter happening.

If I see that there 10 people only on the server and no admins.Yes I will stay but I also will know that there is good chance that nothing interesting expect for some passive RP will happen.
By removing it you lose a ability to check if today will be a event or special encounter for your characters storyline or a day of passive RP

[ I know that passive RP is good but I am more fan of Action RP myself ]

Also if people leave beacuse of COTA? Well their lose of having a nice event and perhaps neat rewards
