Serious Warsaw Uprising RR

america didn't go in to subjugate, occupy and commit genocide on vietnam deadmon. vietnam rr was some patrol rp with some firefights and some bunk time, and even then i seen some questionable shit from a lot of people regarding casual language being used

sorry but even if dark shit happened in the vietnam war it's pretty disingenuous to compare it to what happened in poland

everyone is so damn sensitive about something that happened 5 generations ago that you'd it just took place last week

that being said no of course your average tnber can't be trusted to handle something like this tastefully, it would be a weekend of edgy one-liner kills for the quotes thread - imagine city 15 on steroids

i don't know why you're fighting this so hard but maybe bear in mind that there were ideological differences from vietnam; such as the subjugation and the intended systematic extermination of slavs to be replaced with ethnic germans (see: lebensraum). the americans also didn't kill upwards of [12m] people because of their culture, religion and nationality.

it isn't comparable by any stretch

it's not being sensitive it's just being realistic in not wanting to broach a subject that a bunch of teenagers have only read about on wikipedia and expecting it to turn out well

finely researched, well constructed, and reflective historical fiction is a much different beast than throwing a group of 16 year olds in a FPS sandbox and telling them to represent a defining moment in a nation's history.

vietnam is another thing that is god fucking awful to watch roleplayers try to represent, despite the obvious differences in historical context, so IDK why you guys are acting like it's a counter point

e bennet shut UP IM TALKING

if you wanna roleplay hauling civilians in front of a tank to be used as live shields then be my guest

you guys really don't know how fucking bad the warsaw uprising was

Around 6 million poles died in WW2 in Poland and you had atrocities like concentration camps, holocaust, gestapo actively cracking down on people, Soviets doing shit like katyń and NKVD having no issues cracking down on ethnicities, etc. When you lower it down to just the Warsaw uprising you have mass executions, city blocks being leveled, the ones behind the uprising desperately pleading for assistance from other countries and receiving Soviets sitting on the other side of the river waiting for it to be over just so they don't have to worry about polish partisans later for their own occupation, child soldiers fighting out in the streets, a battle that becomes quite hopeless as it goes on, and so on, comparing this, a total war where one side wanted to genocide the other, to Vietnam, is stupid.

i think that of all the events to portray during this time in history, this isn't the one to go for.

i cant win an argument like this anyways

alright i give up, sorry kieck

I'm writing up my proposal for The Troubles Random Roleplay (TTRR) right now based off the successful reception of this thread

generally it's good to stick far away from most historical events with the exception of conventional interstate warfare tbh, and even then you'll have to neuter them and make sure they're not based on real battles

vietnam rr was just some random dudes in the jungle somewhere, not fckn my lai

there are gross people here and i'd rather not empower them to spew their shit in an "ironic" way while roleplaying as nazis or slaveholders or whatever
