you could go with no SS whatsoever and only have wehrmacht (as far as i know they did most of the occupational work).

if you want to rely on this source, the average soldier wasnt to kill any civilians or the like, otherwise they'd face a firing squad themselves.

you could entrust either staff or a very carefully selected few of people to play as SS if you even wanted to have them involved.

poland is a very "eh" place for WWII shit, because it was essentially beaten senseless by both the germans and the soviets, so it may not be the best.
 
I'd have thought it could be done well (As in go into deeper meaning) if any organizers are selective about who does what, so as to not be insensitive 'brbr i kill natzees' or 'brbr i kill ze jews'

Reading through the comments i'm not so sure about the whole thing now, kinda on the fence

This is a good idea for something like a band of brothers or the pacific type series but not for a community who already have some members past or present who get a boner to anything resembling national socialism
 
There's actually a wide range of dynamic surrounding this whole ordeal. Within poland itself we have German and Russian forces fighting each other, Communist Polish, Polish Partizans, even Ukrainian partizan groups fighting the poles. A lot of interesting things could be done, outside of partizan hunting germans.

No, no. I completely get it. It's a problem with Gmod (Well, the world now I guess >.>) in general. There's a disturbing fascination with the Nazis and the Fascists and the like.

It's just I've always enjoyed World War 2 because, well, that was when we as a world unfucked ourselves and stood up against these genocidal fucktards. It was a dark time, but thinking back on the stories I've been told and the books I've read, it's often in the darkness that you really do find the greatest points of the human condition. People just being good people, y'know?

But I understand the reasoning against it as much as it is for it.
 
i generally wouldn't trust tnb to rp anything of historical significance with taste especially not something literally genocidal that happened not even 100 years ago.

the stuff that happens in hl2 is fictional and a different beast when compared to tryin your hand at grim shit that actually happened in real life fellas

alright, so what's different from the warsaw uprising from vietnam then? what makes the atrocities committed during the vietnam war any less important in your eyes?

what makes this a delicate subject when you've already thrown down what is considered a pretty disgusting and wasteful war that started because the united states feared the rise of communism in Vietnam and in the end that only ended up accomplishing killing tens of thousands on the american side and a disputed four hundred thousand to one million vietnamese?

i mean i could sit here and talk about how diem was the reason for the burning monk or point out how it started because the united states stopped democracy from happening but that's not pertinent

vietnam RR wasn't about atrocities, it was about ground combat, warsaw uprising had those two intertwined and you can't do one without the other
