At Seventeen hundred hours, in the year of the Lord 1944, on the final day of July, the 'W hour' commenced. Across the nation of Poland, freedom fighters rose from their homes, their holes, their stations, clad in lend-lease gear and smuggled arms, and rose up against the occupying Fascists of Poland. To the allies it was known as Operation Tempest, the final Hurrah of the Polish Home Army in the hope to liberate their nation.

History knows it as the start of the Warsaw uprising, one of the bloodiest and horrific months in Human history.

Endless, constant urban combat throughout the ruins of the city. Both soldier and civilian alike taking up arms to fight against the tide of Nazis that had come to take their homes from them. Men, women, children. The old, the young, the weak. It didn't matter.

We all know how the Uprising ended, in failure. For various reasons, but it was still a crucial moment in Polish history. The survivors would tell their tale for generations. Stories of heroism, Fascist atrocities, things right out of action movies.

I dunno about you, but uh... that sounds like a pretty kick-ass premise for a Random Roleplay session.

My suggestion is that we would take the role of a group of partisans. The event would start right before the call of the uprising, as everyone was still preparing. Then it moves forward into the initial strikes, while the occupying Kampfgruppes were still in disarray and not aware of what occurred. From there we could simulate the first four days of the uprising, watching the old city crumble around our characters as they wait for Soviet reinforcements (That will obviously never come).

Drama, action, tragedy, heroism and history. I for one, obviously, love this idea.

I like this, it'll be a cool setting.

When are we having a WW1 themed RR though?
 
hopefully never because world war one was the most boring war ever, im sure people would just love to log into the server to rp in a trench
 
the idea of something based in european ww2 has been thought about but tbh i don't trust anyone here to rp a nazi at all; sounds like a recipe for disaster, even in small amounts

Reason why all the PCs are Rebels. We avoid cringy Nazi-RP while still enjoying the premise, just allow the admins to handle actual Nazis and use NPCs.

the issue is that this is a too delicate setting and, honestly, one that is deeply insulting to me

That's... a fair and understandble point. I know that if people tried to do an Arab-uprising RP I'd be worried for that being nothing but 'Durka Durka' RP because, well... yeah that's all we're known for now.

I didn't mean to offend Kieck. Sorry.
 
I wouldn't really be comfortable with this either, without even adding that this would be a massacre for people playing partisans and the setting itself is grim enough that I don't really trust most of the TnB playerbase to able to roleplay such a thing correctly(mass-executions, poles harbouring jews being exposed in house-to-house sweeps because of the uprising, literal child soldiers etc.).
