This sounds fantastic and neccesary, I mean S3 just got shut down so..
 
I can't afford RS2 after giving my yearly allowance to dave hahaha....hahaa.... help me.

But yes I am 100% down for this.
 
If you want a specific anchor point on when to set the RP, set it around the Tet holiday, 1968.

The Tet Offensive gives us a wide variety of angle to explore this, and we can hold multiple outings that cover different areas of the war. Ambushes on fire bases like the Battle of Khe Sanh, urban battles like the battle of Hue City that came just after the Tet Offensive.

and thus did symmetry begin on the dark path of online military roleplay. some say he was last seen on the 29th infantry division forums, yelling at a new recruit for using a weapon he was not qualified with, the uniform in his signature resplendent with decorations...
 
tbh having come from a military rp community (hi bnt...) and having stayed there for a good while until it died, i can tell u that if u want vietnam rp, ur better off using buffed npcs instead of players to fill in the ranks of the opposing faction so you can focus on telling a fireteam-squad-platoon-sized story rather than trying to tell a general war story. i mean, look at hl2rp; we still haven't figured out how to actually portray conflict without entirely shitting on either side.
 
I wouldn't mind a military rp like dark faction oh man I missed that server but only when I was like 13 and I didn't know how to roleplay
 
i will make sure to get on my knees if any of my NPC comrades drop and carry their deflated ragdolls with my physgun

when the admin asks me what im doing and i tell him im bringing him to safety, only then will i realise that the blank-faced man was dead all along

i cant bring the npcs back

That's why I'd rather use some players as the actors, better control over the narrative. The Vietcong wouldn't actually be doing any roleplay besides fucking up the US forces.

if u do this do definitely make sure that u tell ppl beforehand which side is meant to be focused on

you're missing the point

no ones allowed to pick to play the vietcong

they're not a faction

they're just going to be methods of advancing the story
 
lets not give vietcong to anybody whos been playing RS2

i have a feeling all they'd do is scream "GI GO HOME" and only use the Ithaca

We have enough modern weapons in the script for it.
 
I would absolutely love for a War in Afghanistan RP. Right about 2007 when fighting started going nuts.

Lotta morality you can RP there.
