happens for TRP & ZRP ever since I pulled all my hl2 adv dupes from my old computer :)

I preemptively did a soft re-install by deleting it off via steam and re-installing so if that doesn't work ill bump the thread

Reckon this is due to an older version of AdvDupe2 (maybe) or just a discrepancy between the core script of HL2 back then versus now TRP & ZRP.

There was just a gmod update, you're gonna keep getting that til tnb updates.

The timing with your dupe transfer is coincidental.

Sacrifice a goat and pray to the dark gods for server restarts, boys and girls.

A group of people were working on an event dupe on TRP for nearly four hours and as we're nearly minutes away from saving the server shuts down.

I recognize it was needed to update the servers but I'll be real with you chief, I don't even know if I or anyone else has the energy to start again with that much work in the wind. Literally hours of multiple people's time wasted away.

In the future, please give a quick heads up before shutting down the server like that when there's players online. A group project like that isn't really possible to do in singleplayer.

if you port-forward / use Hamachi to host a multiplayer game you can do big group projects off-server without worrying about crashes cause its hosting off your computer / however the fuck hamachi hosting works

NEVER... ever make big dupes on server TRP / ZRP / HL2RP alike. Just don't do it... They'll crash, reset and or people just run through it and ruin stuff. Do it in singleplayer or a custom server for you and your friend temporarily.

Don’t even need hamachi, just put in the multiplayer options in the single player menu and start it up

gonna call bullshit on this;

pretty much any dupe can be accomplished offline and usually better, since you'll have access to tools you won't have access to on the server, as well as additional powers like noclip that speed up the process of building larger dupes so you dont spend four hours. if you really need help to build it, disseminate responsibility of different sections of the dupe to different players or just pass the actual file to those who are helping you build. that's beside the point though, because any dupe that requires that level of effort is excessive...

going back to hl2 we had a lot of issues with players spawning huge, excessively detailed dupes to the point that it'd effect server stability and you seemed to be one of the usual suspects for that sort of thing if memory serves me right. I get that you're trying to make something more immersive for players but there's a point where it becomes excessive and even inconsiderate, and if you're making something that requires the combined effort of multiple 8-hour shifts, that's far in excess of that point. you need to step back and realize the dupe is probably too bloated to be practical or it's requiring more effort than its worth.

having several people building a single dupe on a roleplay server for several hours is a waste of server slots and time, and if this project really is grand enough in scale that it cannot be accomplished offline in individual contributions from members of the larger group, then you're probably negatively affecting the performance of all the other players that connected to the server to roleplay.

Did u rly have to type up this much to say what everyone else already said bloo

The amount of time elapsed doesn't mean there was a clusterfuck of props to amass the Guinness World Record for doomforts. It just means we spent a lot of time planning and fixing things. I also don't think there being 6 people in the morning hours on a 70 slot server is going to hog up slots, as much as I'll just port forward a server in the future.

tl;dr Gimme the disagree rating and move on

Fuck all your sass I'm the drama queen in these parts and I say your weave looks like shit.
