im assuming this is not a new camoflauge pattern being tested?
help! i'm subscribed to the new content and have PURGED the old content (the files in my addons folder too, as far as i know)

well, how long has this been happening? maybe you installed an addon or something recently that conflicts with the textures.

Actually mine's been doing that too. I always thought it was just part of the gun.

This is a missing normal (bump) map. Diffuse texture is there, but the normal isn't, and Source is applying the checkerboard texture like a bumpmap

Is there any fix for it or is it a content thing?

It's a content thing, dave or gang will have to add the missing texture to one of the workshop downloads. I mean technically you can disable bumpmaps entirely with some mat_ command but that's not really a fix.
