Setting: The crash of your everyday cruise liner meant to vacation parts of Russia and the US leads to a series of wild events unfolding in the untouched Alaskan woodlands. As luck would have it, the cluster of 2 or so lifeboats you were on got caught in the same weather that caused the shipwreck, consequentially separating yourselves from the rest of the victims. After the worst night of your life you find you're washed up on the banks of an empty land- no signs of humanity in sight. Work alongside your fellow stranded and find a way to survive and get rescued.

Duration: One-two day event with accelerated IC time.

Resources: This collection. Haven't decided on a map yet and am open to suggestions. For mostly everything else, the TNB packs cover.

The location of the crash is also up in the air. It'll depend on what climate people want most (see poll).

At what point this event will kick off is also up to preference. I was thinking gm_ocean with the group of about 10-15 players on lifeboats, once the storm that separated them had settled.

I'm glad to see another pitched this. I was thinking about doing a stranded/shipwreck RR. Can't wait to help with it.

I want to go off on my own and murder everyone

Edit: within reason of course.

I was thinking about having some angry, territorial natives of the land show up but then I remembered this is TnB and that involves some inkling of cultural awareness.

we'll stick to animal antagonists for now
e: speaking of can NPC models (like the VJ animals snpcs) be used as pms kind of like the way we use the vortigaunt npcs? @devs

holy shit, yes.
Give me a cold mountainous tundra to throw my life away in, please.

Right now based on the leanings of the poll, we're looking at the aforementioned Alaskan setting.

The thing beautiful about the Alaskan tundra is that it doesn't necessarily have to be snowy, so much as it's dry & bitterly cold. So any good, scenic map with some simple weather effects should satisfy that quite nicely. The current contenders are:

gm_shadycabin (which I currently like because of its night option)
and de_forest

Keep in mind I haven't had good time to explore these maps so we'll see. Otherwise please let me of your interest or map/general suggestions.

e: Tropical/Jungle isn't out of the running though! I'm still searching for those maps too

any model can be set as a model remember that bennet uses a char that is modeled as a teacup

Island is a better setting for being stranded tbh.

taking back my disagree rating because some of that is valid.

I feel like an island is more isolated but less dangerous. The main thing that makes it dangerous is that there's no way to get off, as opposed to tundra or mountainous areas where the actual landscape and environment are trying to kill you as well. The only difference would be access to clean water, right?
Or am I missing something here?

The thing about islands is yea, they're less dangerous and more isolated.

With an island I see a greater focus on the rp of survival skills (raft building, fishing, fire, etc.) while Alaska wouldve been about orienting yourselves, hunting, defense against apex predators, and staying warm.

Keep this in mind while you vote. It'll give me an idea about what you want to get out of this.
