Steam won't load store, community etc.

I can only open the library, but anything that relates to browsing the store or community doesn't work. Even the news windows that show up are just black. The loading thing is just stuck in a loop as shown here:

I tried reinstalling Steam twice

if you're on wifi, try using someone elses and see if problem still persists

if you're on ethernet, do you have control of your network's control panel that allows you to port forward, etc?

It happens to me when my internet fucks up on me, so it's likely just shitty, slow McDonalds wifi internet. No idea what you use though, so I could be horribly wrong.

Yeah I'm able to do all that, but wouldn't the ports have been forwarded beforehand since it worked before?

i've heard rumors of powerline adapters screwing things up in firewalls, but i'm out of clues and i think i should leave this to smarter people rofl
