Steam Download Problems

Right, basic summary:

I can't verify the integrity of any games. The window you recieve when clicking 'Verifying integrity of game cache' shows up, and makes no progress. Nor can I install any new ones - Steam simply up at 'Preparing <GAME> files for install...' and continues looping. I've waited up to seven hours with no success - my computer crashed before Steam finished. I've also deleted the blobs, restarted my computer, restarted Steam, and deleted every file except 'steamapps' and steam.exe in an effort to solve it with a fresh install. No luck.

Any ideas? I have -way- too many games on my hard-drive, so wiping Steam and re-installing from scratch is a last resort. And I really wanna play DC Universe/Skyrim's new mods.

Bumping. I'm honestly stumped.

Back up your steam apps and try a fresh install of Steam. Did you google it?

Yeah & also tried backing them up. Im going 2 try clearing space in my C:/ drive: Steam isnt there, but its awful crowded in there

Now games won't update, either.
