Setting:

The Clone Wars. A bloody war started between the Galactic Republic and the Separatists and their droid army. The war is given its namesake from the Republic's trump card, a seemingly endless army of clones. The clones were originally intended to be identical copies to the paradigm and perfect soldiers, but the cloning technology was imperfect. Although the shorter lifespan of the clones was normal, they developed their own personalities, separate from the paradigm. Clones held different roles in different teams. The universal ideal was a Jedi commander and his or her padawan, and a squad of clones with their own ranks.

The idea of this particular RR is more or less a peek into the Clone Wars. A set of related missions spread over two or three days that build up and conclude in a story arc, the details of which are TBD. I think the Clone Wars is a perfect time for RR, because it's a story most everyone knows and one that people can experience and be satisfied with quickly.

Duration: Three days.

Resources: This workshop collection alone houses more than enough clone trooper models. In particular, the "Essential Clone Trooper" packs are handy. I've found this for droids. Then there's this frankly embarrassingly large workshop collection we could cherry-pick from. I have yet to find any Jedi models with regular head hacks for unique characters, but I know they exist. This was mostly to show that there's no short supply of Star Wars, or even specifically Clone Wars materials to use.

id prefer an imp-era swrp tbh
i mean, i love the clones and the clone wars and anyone that knows me can attest to that
but imp-era offers a better / larger number of storylines to pursue

hiding a jedi?
destabilizing the empire on a planet?
losing a planet to the empire?
stealing the plans of some new weapon and then countering it á la ragout two?
generic star wars: rebels-style errand missions?

a squad of imps defecting from the empire and trying to meet up with the rebels?

stuff like that

Lots of good points. This thread could easily go to just Star Wars RR because, well, it wouldn't take much of a shift. The collections I put in the sources has more than its fair share of Imperial Era stuff. The idea for the Clone Wars was to be an easy to digest, organized, and overall satisfying RR. The Imperial Era is susceptible to this as well, Clone Wars was just on my mind when I wrote this more so, thanks to music.

dont worry ner vod
we all want clones...

e;
tho i suppose it'd also be neat to go through a clone platoon's story for a somewhat longer thing
training, kamino, relaxing at coruscant and then going into another battle where everyone dies or something in a last stand, all stretched over a few days (and ic ofc it'd be stretched over a few years)

Double posting because fuck stealth editing I'm a Sunlight Warrior.

It'd probably take the full RR length of a week to go through an entire platoons story. It's entirely possible but would be a very large RR, with enough volunteers and enough willing participants, the idea of playing out a clone platoons story, start to finish(either by death or by turning into Storm Troopers post Order 66). The maps certainly exist for it, and over the span of a few days? It could be a Clone Lover's dream.

Just an idea. What about a group of clones witnessing ( and partaking in) order 66?

e: could probably weave an interesting story that covers the very end of the clone wars and the beginning of the Empire. (death of the jedi, rise of tyranny, the clones place within it, getting into themes of identity, purpose and fate)

clone platoon being trained and bonding
battle of kamino and subsequent trauma
various smaller battles where the "clones are just human droids they dont feel anything" mindset comes into view
order 66 / operation knightfall where the clones get to enact revenge
intergration into the empire

roles:
- clone trooper
- clone sergeant
- clone commander
- clone commandos? would be sweet... Owain6521 Owain6521
- jedi master
- jedi padawan

i really just want to point out that the imperial army is actually cheap and relies on pure numbers to keep systems in check

stormtroopers are alot like socio units, they aren't all clones but volunteers

i'd love to have a day/two days to a thing, and just go from training to the empire, in a republic commando-style jump. see how the characters deal with order 66, with the end of the republic, and whether they stick around with the empire, get phased out, or rebel

I remember a old star wars clone wars RP group named Adamant gaming. One of my personal favorites since it was a serious RP and not one of those shitty 'RP' servers that use mics. Adamant had shut down once during the time clones used phase one armor. Then when it had re-opened we moved to phase two armor for the clones. It sadly shut down again much later once people had only got on for events and not many people were in. People kept complaining how engineer and pilot applications still hadn't come in yet. I had a medical trooper, both times when Adamant was running. 20161228185833_1.jpg This screenshot wasn't from adamant gaming, it was one from a different server I had found at the time. Its been pretty abandoned since nobody really showed up and half of them weren't the best at RP but this is what it'd usually look like. The clone with the green trims was a Sergeant. Orange trim is medical. Purple in engineer. Then pilots had different armor and a yellow trim. Blue was lieutenant. Red was captain. The 'shinnies' were the clones under Sergeant without a different division. The main backbone of the republic. The colored ranks kinda died out when battalions showed up. The colored trims were more around the time the first battle of Genosious had happen.

In all honesty I'll take some notes my group made and loan them here;

1. Start in Kamino for a bit of training, have all the clones actually get to know eachother through some drills, have everyone earn their nicknames. So on and so forth.

2. Meet the Jedi General and the unit Commander

3. Get decked out in proper Armor

4. Fly out to the first battlefield.

5. Shinies have to do their best to survive first contact

-------

It can be really fun, honestly. But I've always wanted to see a New Republic RP. A bunch of Troopers rushing Jakku or taking back Courescant was always a bit of a dream of mine. The content's on the workshop for Rebel uniforms and weapons, so it's not hard.

The last clone wars server I was in, they used pac for the jedi to create different ones. Also some clones who lost a limb or arm were usually giving a mechanical replacement using both the engineers to create it and the medical to attach it. So if some lost an' arm or leg we could use pac and give them a robotic one.
