Okay, so on the Half-Life 2 Role Play server, I've seen people host restaurants as businesses, and it got me thinking: How can I do that myself? I want to be able to host that myself! Unfortunately, I came across several...questions, that confused me over and over again. Do I really need licensure for this? I also saw people actually cook meals, like, meals that actually looked liked it was real. How do I do that? Can someone please clear this up for me? Overall, someone please answer me these questions:

1. Do I need a license to open a restaurant?
2. I understand that once I log out, everything in a business is wiped away, but do I keep the license for good?
3. How do people actually make good-looking meals that looked legit?
4. How do I get the Water and Tea supplies or what not? That's confusing.
5. How would I get supplies in general for everything? Just spawn them in?
6. How precisely does the loan system work on the server?

Thank you!

1. Yes
2. You keep the license. You have to buy the door and reset the props you placed.
3. Imagination, represented by a scripted item. Bear in mind most food available is utter crap however- you owe it to yourself to recognize that. Serve noodles made out of some unknown substance, not a pasta dish straight outta Rome. Serve stringy headcrab meat, not an all-natural beef burger. And so on.
4. The food business license. Buy a teapot from another store as well.
5. The food license.
6. You get to take out a loan of a certain amount of credits. These credits only count for purchasing the licenses though, so you can't take some money and run. You will also be banned from getting rations if the loan is too big. It's smarter to wait it out and be frugal until your funds from the rations let you open your own business.

On another note, the amount of restaurants on TnB has gotten very silly, but very few places to get some groceries. I'd recommend you fulfill a niche than chase what's popular. Doesn't have to be a grocer's but we have too many places to dine. Give a person an excuse to eat at their housing.
