How is it done, good sirs and wizards of tnb tech support. Can it be done? I mean I assume so. Because I'm on a pretty danm shitty laptop at the moment and I -really- miss my old boss one. I THANK THEE IN ADVANCE O SAVIOR OF VORT's LAPTOP.
its an Nvidia Geforce 9800M GTS if that helps

Movement of the laptop causes weird multi colored lines on my screen.

all i can suggest is reseating everything on the motherboard and ensuring that it is secure, as it sounds like it has come loose.

what would I need to reseat it?
there is a very high probability that I'd have access to soldering tools by the way

Stay away from soldering your own stuff unless you know what you're doing, which you clearly don't. Reseating stuff just means opening your laptop up and making sure all of the connections are secure and aren't coming loose. Just make sure you ground yourself before you start prodding around inside your laptop.

Alright, thanks for the help mangs.

Good luck getting it repaired, it sounds like its out of warrenty and most small shops refuse to touch them. Please note that staples staff generally don't know what their doing and actually make your laptop slower. I like watching them when I go there and shop, first its a disc. Followed by a huddle as they discuss it, then they move onto removing applications. I got to watch a woman get a blue screen on hers and she thought it looked pretty...
