My computer is shitting on itself, it's dying. Spiders are winning their war against the 999 cockroaches inside my PC, and I'm gonna dump this ancient PC soon. Since I'm going to college as well I still love gaming, I wanna get a laptop.

Can anyone recommend me a good laptop for college that's great for gaming as well?

there's no such thing

don't be a tool, don't buy alienware, don't buy anything with integrated graphics

and for the love of god don't waste money buying some hyped to shit version of intel i7, don't have a chart I used to look at for these things, but a lot of the i5 and i7 "higher end" series cost a shit-ton more for a hardly noticeable increase in frequency

Asus has been good for me.

You don't need a super top of the line laptop to run most games, even the modern ones as long as you don't expect super-HD grafix.

Buy a small desktop and wear a generator on your back

Obviously anyone who uses a laptop is a tool.

I am looking at a laptop myself and personaly found that anything with Asus is always a good shot.

I am about to purchase the Asus K55VM:

Processor: Intel i7 3610QM with 2.3 GHz 8 Core (Hyperthreading from 4 core?)
RAM: 8 GB DDR3 1600 Mhz (max'd)
HD: 750 GB at 7200 RPM (pretty good considdering most laptops are 5400 rpm, no SSD)
GPU: nVidia GeForce 610M GT 2 GB Dedicated RAM (Uses optimus system to save energy with integrated intel card)
Other: Equipt with 3x 3.0 USB (The faster type of USB), 1x RJ-45 (Network) port, which for some reason laptops are starting to lose. Webcam.
-It's a 15.6 inch screen weighting at the usual laptop weight. I want it for the exact same reasons you do Sid, since I too am going to uni soon and need a computer to fit the lecture desks (and maybe play some Bf3).

Average estimated price: 1100 dollars (cheaper than a lot of new laptops coming out since it doesn't have blu-ray or beefed up sound systems and it has a bit of a standard body that isn't very flashy like a mac)

A friend of mine has one of those, he said they are the best thing he ever had. The monitor might not be highend but it's enough for computer games. It also has games pre-installed. The additional mouse buttons are also very handy.

No computer should be more expensive than 1.8K and even then that's still too damn expensive.
