I'm looking for a solid and cheap PSU ranging from 450w-550w. I'm not looking to spend more then 65$ on one.

As for the card, I can either grab a:

GTX 560 SE http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814130770 for 130.

A 450 for 100 or a 550 for 110.

This purchase will be based off my next paycheck as I've got about 50 in my checking account right now, and I'll earn roughly 150 or so on pay day. I've waited too long to wait for another pay day to upgrade. Also keep it to one site if you're recommending both for me.

Any help or advice will be strongly appreciated.

I'm not looking for some intense upgrade, I just want to be able to run ARMA 2 and most other modern games on medium-high with no lag.

what the fuck are you smoking dude

you're welcome

Trust me i used to have an 800 and that wasnt enough to handle my shitty rig so it fried every single part of my computer
~70 bucks for a cheapo XION PSU cost me like 300 cuz of fries

and get the 560
buy for the future of gaming not the present thats how you end up having to upgrade in a year rather than 4 or 5

tho at todays current game progression rate i wouldnt be suprised

PSU is one thing you don't want to go cheaping out on, shit brands/make can blow up or not provide enough power etc. Also you'll probably want about 650W, too.

get something from OCZ, corsair (gold series if you have the money), PCP&C, anything from seasonic or xfx, antec or silverstone. there's probably other good brands as well, but be 100% sure that what you pick isn't some generic piece of shit, or your rig won't last for a very long time, and make damn sure you calculate the power output correctly.

edit: found an image about PSUs in my informationals, it'll explain it much better than i can, thank me later

don't get anything from nvidia

i'm not smart i don't know how to do that, lol. i'm just going to go with something i know will be more then enough. just give me some links, if you would.
EDIT: What about the second link tipper sent?

Corsair vx range is good, had one of them for a decent while. Just got an OCZ ZT modular one, which is pretty good, ZS should be good too if you don't want modular.

Not heard of KenTek before, but that price (around £30 I'm guessing?) for almost 1000W? You must be joking, that's almost certainly too good to be true. You're probably going to be looking at about £100 over here for that sort of power, not sure how well it'll translate over to the states, but around $160 I reckon.

Posting specs could help people judge what you need. I currently have a 650W PSU with a 7870 and i5 3570k and they're running fine (both overclocked somewhat).

Well it was originally like almost 200 USD, but with research it's looking like an antec 550 is probably enough, also considering your system is way more demanding then mine and you've got a 650.

EDIT: It'd be running with these specs.
HP Pavilion m9402f
AMD Phenom(tm) 9650 Quad-Core Processor (4 CPU's), ~2.3 GHz
7038 MB RAM
DirectX 11
EVGA 01G-P3-1464-KR GeForce GTX 560 SE (Fermi) 1GB 192-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready SLI Support Video Card (That's the highest end card I'd be buying anyhow.)

The second PSU i sent is usually around 190 bucks. My good friend has had it for a while now and it hasn't dont anything but be amazing for his computer which far surpasses my specs

Get a CoolerMaster GX-650 (and up)
Going under 600W would be unsafe anyway..

Yeah well I'll guess I'll have to scrape together some extra to get that then. I just don't want to spend extra cash on extra power I don't need since I already don't get paid shit at my job as is.
