so for some reason when im idling, not running any programs of any sorts or anything, my computer is just constantly using up ~1.1 gigs of RAM doing nothing. I don't seem to have any processes running that are particularly sucking up a lot of memory, and I don't seem to have a virus on the computer. it's pretty much slowing my computer down to unbearably sluggish speeds (which it shouldnt be, my computer used to run fast as FUCK and its a beast)

idk wat do tnb

That's actually not too uncommon. What operating system is it again?

windows 7, and yeah I checked for processes and shit running in the backround. nothing is taking up a particular amount of memory.

I have this same problem. My computer generally runs fine though.

It's probably superfetch then. You could try disabling it, but in most cases it'll actually make loading longer. This is because it's not caching the stuff you use all the time and has to actually read from the HDD, which is a significant amount slower.

i have no clue what superfetch is but okay

and yeah my computers been running abnormally slow recently, theres times where it just freezes up for several minutes at a time

Start up the performance monitor and see if anything tops out when it does this.

Freezing up? Wouldn't that be your CPU? I only have Steam and Chrome open atm, and I'm using 2gigs out of my total 4gigs. It's pretty normal?

I dunno, my CPU usage is at like 1 percent

Although it does look like its randomly spiking every so often...you may be right jareh

well fuck i dont know whats eating up my cpu then
