Seems wierd me posting in this area.



Ok, quite simply, I need to know if the problem I have is on my end - or something wrong with the new garrysmod update.

I cant get a straight answer wherever I ask.

For me, dynamic shadows are not being cast from props, players or NPCs.


Is this the same for anyone else?

Please note I am NOT talking about shadows cast by map geometry.



An easy way to check this would be to simply look at the feet of any other player. Is there a shadow?




To clarify im running on the same settings I always have done, which are pretty much "max". Ive check all my settings for shadows etc and theyre all correct.
 
i see shadows beneath me when i walk

if theyre dynamic or not idk. ill go check on sp

Usually intel is shitty and can't handle shaders, do you have an intel graphics card?'

I do, they suck :(
 
whats your definition of a dynamic shadow, dave?
also some comparison shots would be nice
 
Im not here to argue the definition of dynamic shadows.

I just want a simple yes or no answer from other people - can they see shadows under players when ingame.....because I cant, and I cant figure out why.

I can.
However, I can't when looking through a camera.

way to be retarded, i was just asking because theres a difference between a shadow that is cast by a projected texture (like flashlight) and the shadows that props/people/doors/stuff generally has.
 
I can't see my flashlight except on the eyes of models... Weird.

Im very much aware of the difference you self righteous tit...........im just saying i wanted a simple answer not an argument about the difference between shadow types.
 
I'll check this out next time I get on-server and take an SS. Pretty sure I haven't seen any real dominate shadows either.
