SETTING

Option 1

June, 2032
North End Boston, Massachusets
Federal Disaster Response Agency Urban Quarantine Zone "JULIET"

"The Last Bastion"

By 2032, 19 years after the Cordyceps Brain Infection decimated society as it was known, Boston's quarantine zone was one of the last in existence. After seizing control of the military and declaring martial law, the Federal Disaster Response Agency (FEDRA, for short) constructed these QZ's as places to defend, keeping the infected out. The administrations of these cities would need to adopt whatever strategies they could to keep the people in line, and safe. But not everyone's fond of saving one another.

In this cutthroat, close-knit urban setting, people turn ferocious. Some rebel against the tyrannical government. Most prominent are the Fireflies, founded in the 2010s in response to martial law - the 'movement' originating in Los Angeles. By 2032, the Firefly-FEDRA conflict is almost at its peak. Gunfights, ambushes, and other terrorist attacks are almost commonplace. Plenty of innocents are caught in the crossfire.

Rations are starting to get more meager. The Military controls all of the QZ's electricity, hoarding most of it. People are desperate - the vast network of black markets and smugglers keeping the people afloat in the lower ghettos.

FACTIONS:
FEDRA and Attachments
"This is control-- this is necessary."
-
Colonel Andrew Reid, commanding officer of the Boston Quarantine Zone.

The Federal Disaster Response Agency. One of the last remnants of the US government, they control the military force, the resources, and the QZ's. Most soldiers are bitter conscripts, keeping the people in check with abuse and intimidation. With the constant issue of people sneaking out and coming back in, they also have to worry about culling any infected within the society. Remnants of the Center of Disease Control operate alongside ground forces within the city, executing any infected citizens with lethal injection, and keeping the soldiers healthy. They will do anything to maintain control.

Fireflies
"When you're lost in the darkness-- look for the light. Believe in the Fireflies."
- Firefly motto

The Fireflies have been around for over two decades at this point. Word of freedom and hope travels faster than any, giving the Fireflies a hefty boost of support by a majority of QZ occupants across America. In Boston, the Good Fight is still young, but not ignorable. Supplies are low, but support is strong. Assistance from the indifferent smuggler societies is tantamount to their success.

Survivors
Occupants of the Boston Quarantine Zone. Desperate people. A network of smugglers underly the city.

The Infected
They can hear you.

May, 2029
Seattle, Washington

"The Drowning City"

The Washington Liberation Front (commonly shortened to the WLF) faced much pushback from Seattle's QZ. The Military administrating the Zone had been near-criminal with their severe rationing, expulsion, and murders. By 2024, FEDRA lost control of the Zone, leaving it for the WLF to take. Five years later- a new enemy has arisen. The Seraphites - a cult-like band of tribals formed in the early 2020s by a prophet expressing her philosophies on Humanity's current predicament.

By this point, most of Seattle's been abandoned as this bloody conflict continues on, both factions struggling to keep grips on their land.

FACTIONS:
WLF
"May your survival be long. May your death be swift."
- WLF motto

Former freedom movement-turned-militaristic faction vying for control of Seattle.

Seraphites
"May she guide me through the storm."
- Seraphite prayer

Opponents of the WLF, who call them "scars". Cult-tribe that uses primitive technology along with some modern items. They originate from an off-coast island. Expeditions and outposts are all you'll find in the city.

Refugees
Unlucky bastards caught in the crossfire.

The Infected
They're no different here.

This could be a lotta fun doe. Personally I would prefer option 1

honestly? i haven’t played TLOU before, but this helped identify the setting, groups, and the intent of each group. ty for that

that being said, option 2

giphy.gif

Naturally occurring fungus evolving into zombie virus > supernatural zombies > evil laboratory zombie virus.

Option 1, keep the sequel as far away as possible please.

option 1 because tlou2 is a trash game that destroys the legacy of its characters

thanks for all the response so far on this, i think the general opinion is a small-scale cityrp boston quarantine zone, which is what i personally prefer as well. might chart up some other potential scenarios if i get any ideas, since it doesn't have to be from a place in the games.

I wouldnt bend yourself out of shape trying to come up with a brand new scenario. Looking at the poll, I think its pretty clear what the majority of people are interested in. instead I would spend the effort starting to adapt the worldbuilding from the first game into something runnable as an RR if I were you

I would love to see a TLOU RR! It would add a lot of RP and fun stuff.
Sounds like a unique and fun experience!
