The PC turned on when you were messing with a part from the PSU? Did you not turn the PSU off before messing with it... That's silly if you did try that. Anyhow, get another PSU and try to test it.

I was referring to the fact that after I'd tried pushing it back in, then plugging the power cable and switching the PSU back on. I'd necer actually try to fuck around with the interior of the PC whilst it's still plugged in.
