Hi! I've decided that it's about time to get a new monitor for my setup (not sure if I'm going to go with a dual display afterwards or not).

I've been doing a lot of research myself and I've just had so much choice it's hard to come down to a conclusion. I think I've pretty much settled on the fact that I would like an IPS panel for the picture quality, and I know that response times for these panels have lowered over time to more acceptable values. My current monitor is 24" 16:9 1920x1080 @ 60hz as a benchmark (it's an Asus V243H).

Here are a couple of monitors I've found on my searches, so further advice on these would be awesome!

I'm from the UK so sites like amazon and scan please! My budget is about the £200 mark though I'd probably be prepared to add another £30 odd to that...

I trust Asus more than Dell, it has a lot of features, and is cheaper than the 3D model.

The Dell's price is more attractive, but remember, you get what you paid for.

Well I was considering the slightly larger Dell one, the U2412H, though the aspect ratio on that one is 16:10. I don't really know if I'd like the 1920x1200 resolution on it, though...

just an update, as i ended up getting the asus p238q.

fantastic monitor, no faults with it so far (except it came with a european plug lol). thoroughly enjoying it, the picture quality is superb, and the features it has are pretty damn sweet. still getting used to it, ive tweaked some of the settings on it more to my liking, just need to make my older monitor match it better.

just get a fucking screen long/wide enough that you like

hell, i used one of those generic old computer models before i upgraded to this flatscreen

go to best buy or microcenter and just browse for the cheapest monitor that you would be fine with

I sincerely hope you're trolling.

I may be a little late for you Hop, but for others who may see this and are interested in going for 1440p.
