A new motherboard equals a fresh installation of your windows. (In some scenarios - mainly if you're making a swap from AMD -> Intel). Because alot of drivers that you have on your HDD do not equal that of an intel board. So half of your shit risks not working correctly, reinstall your shit!

That's what I said stop trying to steal my moment to shine omfg.

Resetting CMOS was a solution I found out when I was using my last board when a similar error occured. Taking the little battery on the board out and wait a bit before slotting it back in. (2 minutes or so.. if I recall).

Glad I upgraded over Christmas.

Gigabyte 990FXA-UD7 gentleman reportin'

Clearing the CMOS won't help in this case, it will just reset the BIOS settings. Remove the battery while the system is shut down and unplugged, change the jumper with CMOS above to the first set of two pins and then press the computer turn on button. Place the battery back and put the pin where it belonged and that's how you reset bios / clear CMOS.

Need to disable/change the setting on the onboard video in the BIOS so it'll use the PCI-E.

The option should be there somewhere, even if it's a bad BIOS.

That should be used if the video card shows pure black screen instead of compatibillity issues with windows.

Alright kids I've installed a new version of windows, reformated my drive. I still have the same problem, when I plug my monitor's VGA into my GTX 260 it doesn't get a signal. My old 8600 GTS that never broke also has the same problem. I've fucked with the BIOS to the best of my ability but this BIOS screen has shit for options and explanations. I've been working with Disorder for two hours and we have gotten nowhere.

Does anyone have a clue or need more information.

Okay preliminary notes: This specific motherboard doesn't have a turn off/on on video cards so if you plug a PCI-express card it should read it without any bios modification.

Conclusion: PCI-express slot busted.

maybe check the wires and if its in the slot good because i was putting back together one of my computers and i didnt connect shit properly i guess i just pushed stuff more into place and it worked but if that doesnt also work then yeah ur fucked sadly, no second slot either...

Amazon is sending me a new one.
Five days until roleplay in dx9.

For what it's worth, in future I'd avoid Amazon and try to go with places like overclockers and ariapc. I've been having a particular issue with them refusing to refund a PSU which didn't clip into the 24 Pin ATX slot properly.

You kidding? I order 90% of my computer stuff through Amazon to take advantage of Amazon Prime. I've had a problem exactly one time (Steelseries keyboard was DOA) and they sent a replacement out before I even shipped them the old one back. I got the new one literally the next day.

Meh, I used to order hardware from them but my recent experience put me off completely.
