I liked Nashville a lot better tbh. That said, Tri-Cities area is okay-ish. Chattanooga was fine, too.
YOU MEAN NASHVEGAS?

NAH. NO WHERE NEAR AS GOOD MAN.

Almost went to school there (Vanderbilt) but decided to go to ETSU since they have a better CS department. I LIKE IT, OKAY?

ARZALIS? YOU GO TO ETSU?

A FELLOW TENNESSEAN IN TNB? YEEEEE EYEEEEEEEE

UTC REPRESENT

Absolutely do. Graduating later this year with a double major in IT and CS.

I live in a town a couple hours away from Chattanooga where every day we wake up and Comcast cracks its whip at our backs, driving us forward on 500gb/mo data caps and horrendous prices

Now I find out a neighboring city gets $70 1Gb/sec internet. Dang.

I'm not sure if by direct connection you meant using a cable. However, I had a similar issue until I just got one of those CAT cables that extends more than 50 feet. Also, I am from Canada and the internet where I live kinda sucks.

Could be because I only pop in here about once or twice a week to post about games or answer something I see in tech support.

On a more serious note, I think the combination of everything fixed it. Thanks boys.

Glad to hear it. I can empathize with internet acting up on ya and it's no fun for anyone. Hopefully it's stable and stays that way.

Right so it's back down to 30 mb/s.

I'll call my ISP this weekend or something when I'm not busy and see what the issue is.

Atleast it's an improvement lol

I just saw this, verify if you can that your ports on both the handoff and your computer match as far as speed and duplex settings, that kind of issue can be caused by collision or mismatch of speed and duplex.

Spartan is the king of routers. He's like that little Indian man from ComCast that does your installation.

Right. Im going to have to get a new Network Card. Someone give me some suggestions. It needs to support up to 1000 mbs

I don't think it's your network card.

Arzalis pointed out to me that I used jargon that people aren't familiar with.

What router do you currently have (model #) what model modem are you using.

when my internet was slow i had to spend 60 minutes on the phone with my isp twice convincing them that i didnt set my network up wrong and the signal strength was weak before they finally sent out a technician

the technician came and said my internet was just slow and i needed to upgrade

i told him the signal strength was low and he said "NO THATS A NEW WIRE"

after about 20 minutes of back and forth i finally convinced him to check the signal strength and LO AND FUCKING BEHOLD IT WAS WEAK

he fixed it in like 2 minutes with some new coaxial cable

ISPs suck dick

Trust me this isn't my ISP. If you knew anything about EPB Fiber Optics you would understand.
