"Moneypak FBI" Ransomware virus, without watching pornography.

My laptop recentley got the "Moneypak FBI" virus, I have no clue how to get rid of it and it said in 48 hours I will lose my laptop if I don't pay 400 dollars. Can I get any help in removing it without giving the hacker the money? This is scary as hell. I've heard of other people getting it aswell, but I need tips before I use google as a fix source.

I use Mcafee, and I don't torrent, I recentley downloaded a Scars modified pack, it included supposedley "Cars featured in Metro 2033/ Carts"

It was sent to me via email, so I guess I didn't make the best of descisions.

The only way to be certain is to reformat your drive. Backup any save games, word files, pictures you want to save onto a cloud storage medium (Dropbox) and do a full reformat maybe even going as far to use DBAN (http://www.dban.org/) to ensure it's clean.

In the future use Microsoft Security Essentials and maybe Spyware Search and Destroy in unison as well as a few safe browsing addons like AdBlock, Ghostly, etc.

Don't use Macafee.

Anyone who ever says 'reinstall windows' or 'wipe harddrive' or just shoot an FN-FAL into your fucking tower is wasting your time for software issues. There is -always- steps to remove viruses individually on google. I got rid of this one a few months back, was fairly easy.

Just be careful what site you go on so you don't pick up more. This is what I used. Malware bytes specifically.
