So today I took out my Corsair CX750W PSU because the 24 pin connector won't clip on properly and both Corsair AND the company I bought it from have admitted there's a fault, and have offered to replace OR refund it. Now at the same time I heard that a modular PSU might be a little better in terms of getting rid of cables that aren't specifically needed, but at the same time I've heard they can fuck up performance a slight bit since the plugs add extra heat and resistance, and my original reason for getting the new PSU was so I could upgrade to ASUS' GTX 770 at the end of the year which I'm concerned might be a little more problematic in this case. The modular PSU in question is this. I'd appreciate knowing what to do here, so yeah. Should I get the one I have already replaced or go the extra step and get the modular unit without having to worry about losing performance.

I don't think it matters that much performance wise if you plug them in and leave them as that without touching them every 5 minutes. Temperature of your room matters way more than the negligible resistance in the connector.
