More accurately the screen doesn't turn on when I wake it from sleep. I have an ASUS K501UX. When I press the spacebar or whatever key to wake it up, the power lights and backlit keyboard come on and the hard drive spins, but the screen doesn't come on. If I press the power button, it'll act like it's going to sleep, and the process repeats if I hit a key again. Basically, it does everything like it should, except the screen doesn't come on, meaning I'm forced to restart my laptop if it goes into sleep mode.

I think it may have to do with a recent Windows 10 update, but I have no way to downgrade to a previous version because when I reset Windows it automatically installs the update.

Sleep mode wonkiness is usually either a power supply issue or display/graphics card issue. Sometimes it's PSU but I doubt a laptop would shit out on its own integrated hardware and the PSU it came with. Make sure any and all display drivers are updated too.

Device Manager > Display Adapters > Right click your display > Update driver

windows 10 sleep mode site:www.tomshardware.com - Google Search (https://www.google.com/search?q=windows+10+sleep+mode+site:www.tomshardware.com&safe=off&espv=2&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwiepZ7HisbNAhWBoD4KHZdqD-gQrQIISigEMAU&biw=1920&bih=911)

Maybe some of this shit could be useful.

I updated my graphics drivers, but it didn't solve it. I think it's almost certainly the display because of the way it behaves when I try to wake it (basically everything acts as it should except the monitor doesn't come on).

I guess I could just use hibernate instead of sleep since I have an SSD and sleep mode is hardly faster, but it is annoying to have a basic function not work.

This happened with my previous laptop when I upgraded to Windows 10, it's really annoying. I don't even know how to fix it, I just disabled sleep mode and turned off my computer whenever I had to leave for long periods of time.
