You're cursed.

I had this problem too a while ago.. try defragging, perhaps? Not sure what I did to fix it.

fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu

e: can't find the steam defragger anymore and i dont want to defrag my entire hard drive until it's the last thing
anything else?

Consider exorcism.

But seriously.. uuh.. verify cache integrity?!?

Tech gods where art thou?

Did this problem exist before or does it happen in other games? Try removing some of your addons from both Workshop and your Garry's Mod folder, tune down the graphical settings and maybe run a virus scan?

Can you also post your system specs? Those might help, too.

Does the problem persist outside of Garry's Mod? Are you getting graphical errors or long loading times that lead to freezing in other games and software? Have you had any occurrences outside of games, like perhaps while browsing and doing what would normally function properly?

Usual troubleshooting would, at least for me, go in this process: check the software, check for viruses or malware problems, consider a reformatting, and if all else fails, it's likely a hardware issue. You can always check to make sure it isn't a hardware issue earlier if you can notice that it seems like one.

System specs on the way. Problem is purely Garry's Mod and no other problem seems to occur aside of simply losing connecting to whatever server I'm on after a few minutes time. Sometimes I can't even walk out of spawn on SRP, or even see the character select, suggseting the problem ranges from a variety of times. However, I see no such software issue as far as malware goes. Reinstalling should have fixed any software problem in GMOD/Steam. Given it only happens on Garry's Mod I doubt it's hardware.

It's not a loading time, by the way. It's just a failure to send or receive data about my movement or actions in game aside of voice. It makes no sense to me, but hooray technology.

Is it just TnB, or all servers? I know SRP is basically death to a computer that can't handle it.

any chance of getting a look at your console aswell?

All servers. And I've not had this problem until recently, SRP has never been like such.
Will get console, but there's nothing worth seeing in there. No errors.

That's usually a problem on the hardware end if anything. Does the entire computer freeze, or just the game?

Hmm ... Your specs are better than my laptop by far but I still run TnB decently with tiny lag booms every now and then, assuming they don't prop the place to death. Have you tried closing all background items running? Like internet browsing or if you're running anything else that's taking up a bomb of RAM? Best to check Task Manager or the like.

I had a similar problem about a year ago, it turns out it was something wrong with my router and I had to remake the whole connection.

It's not a hardware issue as far as the game lagging goes. It's an network issue, and it only affects Garry's Mod servers.

I'll check into what Rux said. Thanks for trying, though.

Could you be more specific, please?

Well, check the back of the router for a small button, push the pin of a needle inside to reset it to factory settings and then redo the whole settings over again. What router model is it before you try it?
