Hey,
I've been meaning to upgrade my computer with a new processor and motherboard, intels i5-3570 and for the mobo an AsRock Extreme 4.
I was wondering, currently having an Intel Core 2 Quad Q8300 2.50GHz and an AMD Radeon HD 6870 XFX, would the performance difference justify 220 euros? (220 is the price of the CPU only)

I literally just got an i5 3570K on the 22nd, I went from not being able to Play Planetside 2 at all on low to being able to play it on high with a reliable frame rate. As a rule of thumb don't use the stock fan it comes with, especially if you're overclocking. I don't trust stock fans... Also if you're going to get the CPU get it NOW while its gonna be in the January sales.

E: If you're gonna be fucking stupid like me then don't back up all your important shit and you'll have to re install all your shit including your OS

Shit I don't have enough money yet, only around April, although I don't see any difference in prices (atleast here in Portugal)
And wow really?.. You need to reisntall your OS? :/
Anyways, it's fucking great news :D

I'm just shit at wiring PCs, one USB port doesn't work and my power button is now the restart button.

how do you even
putting a computer together is like playing with lego
you dont like lego do you

Oh yeah and my 125mm front fan doesn't work, thank god I don't have heating issues. In fair defense about one of the two front USB ports I have not working the cable isn't long enough for one of them.

But meh, just to be safe I'll just ask the guys at the store which is like.. 200 meters away from my house to put it together there, (they do it at no extra charge).

definitely worth it. i understand you havign some worries about installing PC parts though, some (esp. the cpu) can require a little bit of extra force which makes you feel like you're breaking it, lol.

yeah sometimes you need to use a hammer to get it into the socket properly

i dont mean like that
i just meant for example the hinge on the cpu lid is sometimes quite tight or on some heatsink fans that dont screw through the motherboard and instead you poke through with those horrible spiked prongs.

Yeah, might aswell play safe and make sure nothing breaks, and even if it does they pay for it :D
