I have 60 dollars worth of steam cards....And I have an OK PC. GTX 550 Ti around 1gb or 2gb idk. With an i5 3550. I am going to get BF4 tonight as well, but I want something on steam...I have nothing to play, so i thought about getting fallout 4. And I'm wondering, is it worth it? I might get rainbow six siege, but I have to put it in a lower res to run it. (Played open beta) But rainbow six is really fun though...Not sure.

if you're running 1gb of video ram be prepared for the greatest slideshow you'll ever play, half the game is literally hardcoded to exist so unfortunately we wont have the greatness of pretending we're in some stylized cartoony universe like skyrim had

the geck might change things but thats not coming til mid january or so, and even then it will take time to develop something like skyrim ulg

tl;dr dont get it unless you have at least 2gb of vram, its depressing

If they've patched out a lot pf bugs yes

I'm like 100 hours in, of all recent releases I've played this the most.

I'd say it's worth it, I've still only /just/ properly crossed the river halfway across the map.

It's better to get it on PC. There's a lot of bugs that can be fixed through mods, consoles don't offer that possibility.

not different enough from fallout 3 and new vegas to justify the price and some of the changes are bad

use ur christmas pennies elsewhere lad, dark souls prepare to die edition is avaliable for 5 quid.

dont even THINK about getting it for console. The mod support this is gonna get over SEVERAL years is worth every penny.

edit: this includes any bethesda game that's highly moddable. Like seriously, why would you want to play skyrim on console when you can have some of the amazing and immersive mods creators pump out on pc.

Also melee is a viable playthrough now

I have a poolstick warrior.

I wonder if 1gig for the graphics card will suffice. 2 seem better. Until recently, I had a GTX 650 with 1 gig. I could even play GTA Online "okay-ish" but only on lower settings, and you know, when driving too fast or after some time, you could note the strain. I mean with the lower settings the memory was already hitting 1k, and if it was too much, you'd see pieces of the map just vanish or not load fast enough.

For some weird reason, I recently still got it with a GTX 745 and 4 GB. I'm not a tech expert anymore, could have other reasons. CPU should be fine, and 8GB Ram too.

ANYWAY, TO THE QUESTION AT HAND:

1) If you can play it, then it's worth the money on PC (imo)
2) ... also consider the mod potential, for all that funny stuff alone it's worth the money I think. You benefit long-term though, as obviously mods come out over time, and the more complex ones need time until someone tries to come up with the idea and then realize it. And then perfect it and fix bugs.

If you are into the general FO lore and setting, can play this one and don't mind some of the new additions made to 4 (dat dialogue option limitation doe), then you can spend many hours, and extend that with mods again. Already running notable mods I don't want to miss and the GECK isn't even out yet, which means the real magic will happen once it is out.

Granted, the hype went down for me, I finished the MQ (take your time, explore, do sidequests, don't rush it, imo), I still have a lot to do in the game but currently focus on other things. Still...

In short: I think it is worth it. Even if you critically judge the main quest itself. When in doubt or yet not really sure if playable, simply wait. It's not like it's running away from you.

It's worth getting, it's just not worth paying for.

I ran fallout 4 phenomenally (almost 40 fps in some areas ) with a single GTX 650 Ti on med-high settings. So if graphics is an issue, know that a cheap gtx 650 ti is good enough lol. I ran a multitude of games with it too, and it's right up there with the 750's i think.

I am getting it on PC

Also turn it on low...Saw a benchmark of fallout 4 with GTX 550 ti.. It was great
Alright looked at my vram and I have 4095 MB total of video memory

4 gigs of vram? Wew lad... I'm playing most of my games at 2 and the only one I can't really play with great FPS is ARK:Survival Evolved. And Rust, but, I'm pretty sure that has something to do with memory leaks because I could play it on fantastic with a steady 50 fps until a few updates ago.

since you're using nvidia fallout 4 will run fine

not as easily said for anyone who runs amd however

Alright. Thanks Tami.. I am paranoid..I hope it runs and it is a good game.

just torrent it bro
I don't know anybody that has fallout 4 torrented.. But how would you do so?

add me and i'll tell you one day when i'm not busy lmao

if you want an rpg, spend your money elsewhere

if you want an action/adventure exploration game, shed those dineros

4gb of vram should be good, im running fallout 4 on a 4 year old intel processor with a gtx 960, if that runs fine then whatever you're running should be ok
