I heard HL2RP is having its "Final" iteration, how long until the end? and elaborate please. I'm confused and scared.

Before they would die but come back as other iterations like a year or two later. This is probably the last one given how it's city 17.

I have an acquaintance who has ran several Half Life RP servers, and according to him, player-bases were once large enough to hold lively, interactive server packs of ten that all mingled with one another(similar to how TnB has three, but are barely active on two.). If TnB is, at this point, the best offered by the HL2RP community, with the system it runs, then the standard and average quality of HL2RP has dropped significantly.
It is possible of course that if our assumptions are true, that they can be laid to rest by the possibility of HL[REDACTED] being finished and released if Gaben allows it.

gabe allows it. valve employees work on whatever they want, and even gabe himself chooses not to because everyone goes to where the money is made

also i'd say the roleplay part of HL2RP has improved, but in terms of playercount/general interest and how people act on an OOC level that has dropped significantly.

but signs show they're becoming more and more disinterested. this is probably the last one seeing how it would be the "best" time to end it.

If it does "end" it could be rebooted from scratch. Like, from a different city at the start like a new "first" iteration. It could be interesting for everyone to start anew and no longer having a good 70% of the population having solely characters from older iterations.
