It's a SATA I by the looks of it, especially the data cable attached to it. And he doesn't need to do a complete reformat, just format and reinstall the partition with windows.

Well, yeah, if you set it all up on separate partitions when you installed everything, but very few people do that. I don't even do that since I have an entire SSD dedicated purely to the OS.

It's obviously SATA, yes. You can tell that without even looking at it since that's been the standard for a little less than a decade now. That wasn't why I wanted the picture.

Look FUCK off the motherboard is placed awkwardly and the 660 is a fucking room taker.
All of my wires are stacked there because of where the SATA ports are.
Anyway it's ok now, I solved it just by finding (by luck) my burnt-to-disc windows 7 home premium and reinstalling, moved all of my old shit back over.
