So I bought this neat nVidia GTX 660 Ti graphics card for my computer, and was getting around to installing it.
I found out it doesn't fit.
I'm pretty pissed, so I'm looking for a new computer case.
I don't exactly want to work with trying to get an entirely new motherboard seperate, because I don't trust myself with installing those.
So I require you fine men and women to help me out in finding one. Or I can't play Metro: Last Light to its full potential like I want to.

It...doesn't fit the motherboard...yet you're looking for a new case?

Friend you need a new motherboard. As a matter of fact, if you can't fit a PCI-e 16x, you need a new computer altogether.

no it fits him motherboard just not the case

thats why he asked for a new case

Apply yourself, do some math, learn the dimensions yourself and get a case that best suits your budget.

Is a case really necessary? Why not just use a cardboard box, drill some holes and tada.

I tried to help you but they infracted me.

Alright because no one else here seems to actually be helping much..........................................................................................

I'm guessing the computer you have is a prebuilt, by Dell or HP or the like, since if you built this computer yourself you wouldn't need to ask this question. Prebuilts usually aren't intended to be upgraded so it might have some wonky, proprietary dimensions or something and their power supplies don't always have room to expand, but you could be trying to install it incorrectly as well.

The sizes/dimensions of a case shouldn't matter much for compatibility(but bigger cases can generally cool better and fit more shit in them). There are a variety of 'form factors' for motherboards, the standard being ATX, so as long as you get a case built for that standard it should be fine. You really should upgrade you mobo though. Chances are its a piece of shit and although it might not be a 'noticeable' increase in performance like with RAM or a new GPU, it is still very important. Installing a motherboard isn't very difficult either, and if you're getting a new case you'll have to do it either way. Your CPU might also need an upgrade to put that GPU to full use.

Could you provide the model number of your computer, or if it wasn't a prebuilt, the specifications of it?

it is a prebuilt, dell inspiron 620 MT.
the model # being: OGDG8Y for my mobo, i cant find the actual case #
service tag is: 1KSG65J.

How far, doesn't it fit.

I got a 7950, it was too big for the case but after some fiddling about, i slid it in a way which it fit. Another option, is if it's not in the way of any drives where it doesn't fit, cut the frame so it does fit.

1/2 a cm.
i cant unscrew anything because a hard-drive holder is sort of in the way.
with a hard drive in it.
