I did all the things that are apparently meant to cure these errors or something but to no avail, and now my HDD is going to die one day and I won't have a backup.
One of you people who know how to get an internet & external hard-drive (both 1TB) for something reasonably cheap (~£70-£75 tops).

i forgot that it was my spare hard-drive
owell cant help to have a spare hard-drive
ill look into it

I read from a reputable source that running a magnet over the disks inside fixes many of the errors of HDDs.

I'm pretty sure that makes it worse since the data is transferred magnetically........
...... was that a joke

No, that's how computer manufacturers like Alienware overclock hard drives to near-SSD levels of speed and it also fixes bad sectors.

I don't want to attempt it anyhow, incase it doesn't work out.
But, uh, I guess that's cool.

You do realize that a bad sector is practically a scratch on the hard drive, right?

Are you saying Alienware doesn't know what they're doing? Or the other computer companies? I know exactly what a bad sector is.

There is only one way to fix the bad sectors. The scratched areas are sealed off not to allow access anymore, meaning you will lose an X number of space from your hard drive. Show me facts of Alienware 'repairing' hard drives with magnets.

Buy an Alienware and then get back to me, thanks in advance.
