Hi there, it's me, Scarecrow again with my seemingly unending PC problems/questions.
Here's what's been happening.
Sometimes, and I'm not sure what cause it, my computer will freeze up then shift the MONITOR into power saving/standby mode (my monitor flashes through the primary colours to signify/test itself when in standby mode). How do I know it's just my monitor? Because I can hear system sounds/video/game sounds if they're running while this happens.
Sometimes it happens while I play DayZ, sometimes it happens while I'm watching youtube videos, and sometimes it happens during something as fucking simple as switching profiles. I should mention whenever this happens windows plays a sound that's similar to (or may be the exact sound) when you disconnect a USB/device from the computer. Could be that my video drivers have failed. I don't know.
Anyway the solution I've found that temporarily fixes this problem is via hard reset, then disconnecting the power cable for approx. 60 seconds. I can then boot it up and it runs normally.
So. Today, I get on my PC, move the mouse around to get it out of standby mode. I hear the sound, not this fucking shit again, I think to myself. And the screen intermittently flashes red, blue, green, and white at my face. Mocking me again. Fuck you. It sits there while my PC boots up. And then I hear the windows greeting tone. WHAT THE FUCK.
Now I tried the hard reset. I tried vacuuming out & reseating the major components, I tried unplugging everything... And I'm faced with the same fucking screen. I am at a loss. Please someone have some answer, other than 'get new pc'.
