Anyone play Arma? The Halo mod really fantastic, and is well suited for RP.
"We didn't have any Forerunner technology. We didn't have some grand destiny supposedly handed to us. We're just some apes from a backwater pebble in the void. We fought, we scraped, we invented, we discovered. We persevered. Against all odds, against our own self-destruction, we rose. We didn't find any lost artifacts, or reverse engineer some fantastical ancient technology. We did it ourselves. We reached for the stars, and touched them, all on our own. That's why you hate us so much, why you call us heathen blasphemers trying to walk in the footsteps of your divine ones. Because we did what you couldn't. We did it...like THEY did. "
On one hand you just described TnB. On the other, I wouldn't mind doing some ODST drops or base defenses as Marines with anyone here.yes, was in an ODST unit for a little while.
only bad thing is that any Starsim or Halo sim/rp communities on Arma are always plagued to the brim with furries and weirdos, or just super immature kids.\
most last only a month or so and then flop. hard.
i wouldn't mind running some OP TREBUCHET Dynamic Recon Ops tho with like a small group. that'd be fun.
edit: OP Trebuchet: First Contact is rly good too.
in theory halo is going to have some of the same pitfalls as trp
something like halo rp DOES have massive narrative potential but only if you make it something beyond not-trp
say what you want about sinclair’s meme but that’s a valid fear that halo could be just like trp in all the wrong ways
That sounds like 343 territory and 343 lore. The same lore that seemingly divides the Halo community to this day. Not saying it isn't a good idea but anything post war has problems with people.Depends on how we do it. Are we going for The Fall of Reach as planned, where yes combat is heavy and deaths are high, or are we going more for a post war era, where it's the UNSC and Swords of Sanghelios working together post war for things like, anti piracy, the return of the insurrection, and the rise of post covenant factions and cults where we have more breathing room and creative liberty?

Then if its post war you got your WORT WORT WORTs that tag along and be capable of soloing entire platoons because they're the voritigaunts of halo.
