Garry's Mod Crashing to Desktop

For whatever reason every time I launch Garry's Mod it goes to the splash screen, with the black loading box in the bottom, and simply CTDs.

I've steampiped all my content, reinstalled the game twice, wiped the folder three times, and still no relief.

The only way I can actually play Garry's Mod is if I restart my computer every time I launch it.


Any help?

No clue. Stick to restarting your computer.

There is an error checker feature on Windows somewhere, it basically lists all erors that happen, so it should have HL2.exe show up in there after it crashes. Maybe it can give you more information, I'm off to bed, if you can't find the program I will tomorrow.
