Normally gmod allows your fov to go above 90 to support ultrawide resolutions including those created by eyefinity and nvidia surround. This makes the view in game zoomed in. Can higher fovs be allowed please?

cant be done without hacking or personally setting ur FOV on the server

Why not? It works in vanilla gmod without any mods or additional settings but as soon as I join the server, it stops working.

cuz the default fov on gmod is 75-90

and clientside addons arent allowed by the server

So why can I get a proper aspect ratio/fov in vanilla sandbox? Is it a piece of code in sandbox that allows it?

ur clientside lua is counted as serverside if ur the server host

As mentioned above, it works in vanilla gmod sandbox which means my sandbox is 100% stock. No mods or extra scripts are being used. And if there even was a script, what so bad about getting it on the server?

there are no fov changing scripts in gmod by default either on the client or the server or the gamemode

I'll do some research into this and present the results in this thread. Here's what I know so far:

Game Resolution: 5760x1080
Game AspectRatio: 48:16

I installed gmod on my system (which was blank reinstalled a couple months ago) and only subscribed to the model and maps addons shown on the tnb site. The rest of my gmod install is 100% stock. When I first completed the install, I set up my resolution and graphics quality settings and loaded up sandbox on flatgrass to test thing out. Works 100% fine with the Hud constrained to the middle monitor and the FOV accurate for my resolution. When I loaded in HL2RP, the FOV was locked at 90.

I'll load up sandbox and see if I can find any more information for you.
