PC Specs:

-Dell
-Vista
-Inspiron 546
-Desktop

Problem:

When I plug the power cord in, an orange light on the motherboard comes on and a green light at the back of the computer. But when I press the power button at the front, nothing.

low power or something? open that sucker up and have a good look in there like a fresh girls vajajay ey

p.s dell LOL

Try reseating all the parts, if that doesn't work something is fried, most likely the PSU.

I guess the only way to fix that is bringing it into a shop or something right?

What something being fried? No, you just buy a new part,

and reseating can be done at home.

Thanks but, do you know how I can see if something's fried for sure, the computer's done this before but for some reason it'd start working but this time it doesn't seem to be.

If you have another PC available to you, begin changing the parts (PSU, to start) from it over to the Dell, and try booting it as you interchange the parts one by one.

Whichever it starts up on replacement is, by the process of elimination, the damaged module that needs to be replaced.

Alright, I'll try that. Thanks for the help everyone.

I had this same exact problem, my computer would start up and shut off, or would just give me a flashing light or something and wouldn't start, the PSU was fried which in the end fried all my parts so I had to get a new build.
