The year is 2214. The discovery of the Black Marker. For years, EarthGov has been on ends, pulled every string, every favor they had in their belt. Desperate and hungry for resources, for their Mother Planet. They needed a way to keep their people happy, and fed with enough opportunities and an atmosphere still hovering above their heads. They needed a solution, and when they found one, they didn't hesitate to act upon it.

The Black Marker. So mysterious in it's ways, of design, alien markings and purpose. Why was it here? How did it get here? What is it? What does it do? Many questions were asked upon a sense far greater than they could have ever imagined. With a mind filled with curiosity and wonder, EarthGov authorized operation in the Peninsula and seized full control of the Black Marker. Soon enough, they placed it inside it's own lab, with it's space, filled with miscellaneous needs for the people themselves. Sooner or later, the area was moved underground, after research and analysis was conducted on the Marker itself. Soon, it was found out that the Marker released a frequency of seemingly limitless electromagnetic waves, transmitting from it's very core.

EarthGov was invested in this operation. After hearing about a valuable profit of electromagnetic waves, capable of boosting their economy, they had to make this work. They put their scientists - researchers and doctors - underground, with the help of a security team to back them up, and ensure no one unauthorized gets in or out. After all, it'd be a shame to really kill anyone inside the marker zone.

The facility has been reinforced with EarthGov forces, scientists, and government-contracted civilians that work for Personnel Maintenance, such as janitors, cooks, and even engineers. They all go through a work cycle, prompting a switch in shifts from person to person. Sooner or later, everything gets settled, and the scientists get to work.

It's been three months since EarthGov has discovered the Marker. The underground facility testing the Marker - known as Site C2901 - has gone Haywire. There were many reports of hallucinations, schizophrenic episodes, and lashes against staff. Many security personnel reported seeing deceased, from their families and friends. Along with whispers and noise that drove people insane, to the point of suicide. The whole facility, would soon crumble and fold into one slaughter, that would encase the whole facility in a blood bath.


At first, it was a few complaints, but then, it turned into arguments, then yelling, then fighting. Until the next thing you know, people were killing each other left and right, with their own weapons of destruction. The news only hits you while you were on your way with the first batch of people, heading on the transport on their way home. And news had traveled fast. Reanimated, modified human tissues rising from the dead, with a morphed body structure, such as hands for scythes. Necromorphs. The first batch of transporters had to find their way out of the facility, or try and stop this from spreading.

This rr is an alternate take on Martyr, and a take on Dead Space Horror. Since this being my first RR suggestion, I was meaning to post this somewhere in April, when gold for Dead Space 2 came out. I've played all of the dead spaces, and beat Dead Space 2 three times, once on Hard Core. Other three, I've played a while ago. But regardless, still remember.

So back on track. The way this will work is that there will be Researchers and the Security, which will be the main players. The facility is very big, so realistically, there'd be about if not approximately 100+ staff members in the Facility, realistically(There won't be 100 players rostered. IC information only. I assume this will be limited to about 40 people on the server, maybe a little more.). However, there are other characters that will fit into bigger roles that I plan for the good roleplayers to use, such as the Security Lieutenants and the Facility Overseer. If you don't want to play a nerd with glasses, feel free to be a Janitor or a Cook, stuck at the wrong place at the wrong time. There are other roles I have in mind, if the moderators feel like it's a necessity to know these roles, PM me.

Duration: Short and simple. I don't expect us taking a break and hunker down somewhere, as it wouldn't make too much sense with Necromorphs moving around everywhere. Should take one day, but depending on what happens, another day will do fine.

Note(How EXACTLY this is gonna happen.): A degree of freedom will be given to the players to act, but it will all be tailored to the story itself. In the end, everybody should meet up in the same place. Not giving many spoilers out for this one.

Definitely will be keeping track of this, Dead Space RP is always nice.
 
This has been on the to-do list for a looooooong time and we've had persistent content issues. Resolve that for us and we can roll it out.
 
Not saying I can help the issues, but what content issues are there so people can help if possible?
 
Ye, I got you, man. I've seen this problem for a bit, that's why I scouted out some content (also shamelessly grabbing a few addons from snuggles) and I got a few extra things of mine too I could put in there, other than that, I think the problem would be stuff like the weapons, and the models, but mostly the Necromorphs and how they will be played. That's why I shortened the timeline a bit so we don't expect super realistic weaponry, and we can use our script. And if that doesn't work, I can put down this Pulse Rifle Swep I found, and use that. Don't expect too much variety in weaponry, however. Just rifles and maybe pistols.

E: also, posting the addons I got for this RR. I'll see about fortifications and gruesome scenery, like bloodsplatter and writings, and such.

The big issue is necromorph playermodels and NPCs. This was also the big issue with the Alien RR, and one I was only able to resolve by making a very complicated PAC, including sounds, to give off the right atmosphere.
 
Yeah, this seems like the big issue I am having with Dead Space too.

I'll probably have to figure out how to make a dupe of a Black Marker, and learn how to use PAC (was never really any good at it) to really give off any sort of realism or feeling.

I'm checking the map out right now, seeing what we could do with it. Looks good, but there are flaws as well.
