you really can't go wrong with a ps3 controller

i mean, you should honestly maybe look at all the controller layouts and what you think might the most comfortable for you, but I find the layout of the ps3 controller pretty nice, and you can get them hella cheap.

go to the store and hold a few of the controllers yourself, see which one fits your hands better and which ones you like the buttons of more. i prefer the ps4 controller, it's the most comfortable for me, though i have to use a program (free) to use it with all my games, by making it register as an Xbox controller. even dragons dogma, which was supposed to support it out of the box, has issues with it otherwise.

idk guys i plugged in my ps4 controller and i played gta just fine i didnt need to download nothing
