Hi Guys / Gals,

I got a pretty good sound system the other day consisting of the below.
1 x 10" L7 Kicker Subwoofer
1 x 10" Mutant X Subwoofer
1 x 3200watt amp (cant remember the brand)

Now the amp works fine and power the subs but... if I turn the volume up too much the subwoofer goes into protect mode. Now my wiring is fine as I have 4gauge wiring and also the earthing is connected to bare metal.

I have no idea what the problems is, I've worn the sub and amps in as they were brand new about a month ago. I didn't turn them up loud because I knew they would blow if I did so.

Any suggestions?

All I'm gonna say, is double-check your wiring, and by that I mean check it closely. To me it sounds like something is causing a surge, sending the subwoofer into protect mode.

no idea but thanks for reminding me to fix one of my own speakers in my door, lol.

maybe you shouldn't turn your volume up too far... Problem solved /thread

How is it mounted? did you mount it right to the metal or did you put a board between them?

e; and I mean like, all your sound equipment short of the deck itself.
